Crystal
Screen, Esq., is a solo practitioner in the Law Office of Crystal L. Screen
where she has been practicing since September 2001 focusing on family law
matters, including, but not limited to court assigned indigent representation as
a member of the Second Department Law Guardian Panel. She was staff
attorney at the Legal Aid Society, Juvenile Rights Division, Queens County
from December 1992 through August 2001, representing children in Family Court
Proceedings, including Neglect, Abuse, Delinquency, PINS, Custody, and
Termination of Parental Rights. She lectured to school classes and
community organizations as part of that organization's Community Outreach and
also provided supervision of summer and school-year interns. She participated
in legislative advocacy by attending Legal Aid Society-sponsored lobbying
events in Albany.
Ms. Screen also represented clients in Brooklyn Family Court as a legal intern
while at Brooklyn
Law School
where she received the Brooklyn Law School Post-Graduate Criminal Justice
Fellowship in November 1998. She was a teacher/facilitator at the
Constitution Works, New York,
N.Y., from September 1990 -
November 1992, instructing students ages 12-18 about the way constitutional
challenges are brought and argued before the Supreme Court, and the way
bills are introduced and debated in Congress. Ms. Screen was admitted to the bar in Connecticut and New York State
in 1993; is a
member of Macon B. Allen Bar Association, 1994 - Present; and the Assigned Counsel Association of Queens
Family Court, serving as President, from September 2005 to the present.
