Anne graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1978. She graduated magna cum laude with a BA in political science. She then graduated from Albany Law School of Union University with a JD in 1981.


Anne was admitted to the bar in New York in 1982. She is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, Capital District Women's Bar Association, Adirondack Women's Bar Association, and Rensselaer County Bar Association.


Anne was a partner in Law Firm of Martin, Shudt, Wallace, DiLorenzo, Copps & Johnson from 1984 until 1995 when she opened her own office in Albany, New York.


Anne has been the recipient of several community and professional awards including the Distinguished Member award from the Capital District Women's Bar Association, the Attorney Professionalism Award, and the ProBono Award from the New York State Bar Association, and the "Straight but not Narrow" award from the Capital District Gay and Lesbian Community Council.


Anne is active in community affairs currently serving as the Second Vice-Chair of the New York State Bar Association Real Property Section, the Co-Chair of the New York State Bar Association's Committee on Legal Specialization, the Treasurer of Friends of the Rensselaer County Family Court Children's Center, the Treasurer of Adoptive Families of the Capital Region, and also serving the Legal Project and the City of Mechanicville in a monthly free legal clinic. Anne has previously served as the Vice President of Child's Canterbury Foundation, the chair of the Committee on Professional Standards (attorney disciplinary committee), and on the Board of Directors of the Legal Project.
