You may register on line at the State Bar site, www.nysba.org, but not if you are availing yourself of a program fee waiver.   Click here to register on line.

To register by mail, download the registration form.

Please read the following instructions, which do not appear on the registration form.

There are different ways of registering depending on your category.

(a)  If you are a normal paying attendee:  fill out the registration form (a long page listing all the programs for the annual meeting week) and send it in with payment.  OR:  register on line.  You will have to pay $85 registration (plus $200 if you are not a member of NYSBA) and $85 for the program.

(b)  If you are a panel law guardian, fill out the registration form AND the 2011 Waiver Form  and send them to NYSBA.  You cannot register on line.   You will not have to pay any fee if you are a member of NYSBA.  If you are not a member of NYSBA, you will have to pay the $200 non-member surcharge.  However, you can join NYSBA now and qualify for the fee waiver.  Deadline is January 11 in Albany for panel law guardians!

(c)  If you are a panel Family Court or Family Court Appeals assigned counsel, but not a panel Attorney for the Child, you use the same two forms as the Attorneys for the Children, but you have write to Catheryn Teeter at NYSBA first to make sure that there is a place left for you.  (cteeter@nysba.org)  You will not have to pay a fee if you are a member of NYSBA and if there is still space for you.  If you are not a member, you can join NYSBA now and qualify for the fee waiver.  To get the assigned counsel fee waiver, NYSBA must receive your forms by January 11, 2011, in Albany.

(d)  If you have financial need, even if you are not on a panel, you may follow the hardship scholarship procedure indicated on the program announcement, as for any NYSBA program.
