Cynthia Feathers

 

 

Cynthia Feathers has a law office in Saratoga Springs, NY devoted to civil and criminal appeals and legal research and writing for litigants and trial attorneys throughout the State. Following a decade-long career in journalism and corporate communications, she graduated with honors from Boston College Law School.  She then clerked at the Appellate Division - Third Department, served in the Appeals & Opinions Bureau of the State Attorney General’s Office in Albany, and handled appeals for the Center for Appellate Litigation in Manhattan, before launching her solo law practice.  Ms. Feathers is an Adjunct Professor of Appellate Practice at Albany Law School, has been a faculty member at CLE trainings on appeals presented by the State Bar’s Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction, the Third Department’s assigned counsel and law guardian programs and local bar associations, and has written numerous articles on appellate practice.  She has also won awards for pro bono service, including for representing the appellants in Matter of Julia BB., 42 AD3d 208, lv den 9 NY3d 815, in which the Third Department reversed a Family Court order terminating the appellants’ parental rights after 52 days of testimony.  E-mail:   cfeathers@appealsny.com
